In terms of history – around five to six years ago a program called Zapster introduced a service known as P2P which stands for Peer to Peer. This allows people to find any music track they want. The downside for the songwriters and copyright holders was that through this avenue they did’nt receive any money for people listening to there songs. The site limewire was a big internet player allowing people to buy music on line – one of its staff said that initially people had throught the internet was a fad.
