For companies to take advantage of the online power of the internet they need to be able to create some kind of control around the sites and in return generate cash for the music people are listening to. As a result of this the market has grown but due to piracy and ‘free’ music being available the industry has taken a hit on the finances. Nokia was one of the first companies to take advantage of the music opportunities on line. They aimed to allow there users to take advantage of sharing but at the same time allowing a return for the owners.

X Factor contestants rumored to fall out

The X Factor, one of UK’s most popular singing talent contest is amongst claims that the contestants have been squabbling among themselves. The judges however deny these reports about the stories which have hit the papers as untrue. The main fallouts have been with the ladies. Since Cheryl Cole had originally missed the later stages of the auditions due to catching malaria. She has since received criticism from the press from ditching one of the girls Gamu Nhengu from the main group but when questioned about this she has refused to comment on her decision. Amongst this there were claims that Cheryl was miming herself when she performed on stage a few weeks back.

Robbie to sing some solo material on tour with Take That

Robbie Williams will be joining Take That for a tour of the United Kingdom and Europe next year. It has been suggested that on stage Robbie will be singing along with the group in some of the favourite hits and some solo material that he has created. With Robbie on tour it’s already anticipated that the tour will be a sell out. Last year even without Robbie Williams the group took to the road performing 20 concerts and this went way above U2 and Michael Jackson. Robbie on his own has been a solo hit since he left the group in 1995.

In terms of history – around five to six years ago a program called Zapster introduced a service known as P2P which stands for Peer to Peer. This allows people to find any music track they want. The downside for the songwriters and copyright holders was that through this avenue they did’nt receive any money for people listening to there songs. Take That Reunited Tour Dates Set For Next Summer

Take that were one of the most popular boys band to hit UK in the 80’s. Since then Robbie Williams left the group to pursue his own music career and finally after all these years it has now been confirmed that for the first time they will join up as a single group reunited and go on tour next summer. Dates have been set for various cities across the country and with tickets due to go on sale on the 29th October the aim is then to take the tour further a field to Europe.
